Mountaineering

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced climber, your ambition may be to climb Mont Blanc by the standard route or to tackle the north face of the Meije. Together we can conquer some of the most famous or less well-known peaks and I will be delighted to help you plan and carry out the projects that mean so much to you.

In the winter of 2005, my friend from way-back, Cyrille Copier, invited me and another mate, Gepetto (Jean-François Etienne) to join him in the completion of the opening of his route up the Northern face of La Meije. Over three days in mid-June 2005, our trio ventured towards the summit, making our way over the virgin territory of the smooth and overhanging large yellow triangle of rock, quite visible from la Grave.

We were lucky to have the weather on our side, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rock. The summit surrendered itself to us without too much of a fight. On our way back down, we spared a thought for our mate who had participated in opening the first lengths in 1997: and La Directissime des Potes (The Mates’ Direct Route) was born.
