Towards the end of the year 2003, I was asked to design a new web-site for Bernard Gravier, mountain guide and climbing specialist, in order to bring together information about his various activities and for his clients - those seeking new adventures in and around the dizzying heights of the Vercors.
Intrigued by these hitherto unfamiliar activities, and immediately drawn to their visual potential, I became passionately immersed in the task of creating the component virtual 'bricks' and pulling them together to build up a very real project.
It has been with great interest, therefore, that I have created this site which was launched at the beginning of 2004. It has allowed me to go beyond my usual 'pure and hard' computer scientist's remit, and to combine current technology with imaginary journeys throughout the mountain ranges and cliff faces of the Vercors
